23 things completed!! Hooray!! I must say I am glad to be finished but I did learn lots of 'things'. My favorite thing would have to be Pinterest. I also feel it will be the most useful for both work and personal use. I was pleased to discover that I was able to do most things with very little assistance. Perhaps there is hope for this 'old dog' yet!
Overall the exercises were good for exploring new 'things' online- things that I would never have tried without a little push. I think I will be more confident when trying to do something new on the computer.
Thank you 23NB Team for the experience!

AA-Apps Anonymous
Hi to the crew at NB23Things. Week 9 Apps has been a challenge since I do not have a device on which to download anything! My daughter kindly allowed me to download and return a library ebook on her Kobo. Aside from that I've read through the information and should I ever get a device it will prove helpful.

What's the Scoop?
I managed to join Scoop.it this week and even 'scooped' a few items which I tweeted about-at least I think that's what I did. Personally, I long for the day when I can sit on a bench along the boardwalk enjoying a scoop of my favorite flavor while listening to the robins tweeting in the branches overhead. 'Just saying'.

Connie Reads
I have recently read The Orenda by Joseph Boyden and Annabel by Kathleen Winter so I decided to listen to Q: the Podcast with Jian Ghomeshi. Although I have yet to read the other 3 contenders for Canada Reads-I cannot imagine that any of them will affect me the way The Orenda has. I completely agree with this choice and arguments made in its defence by Wab Kinew. As Kinew stated in his emotionally charged argument this book "is more than just lessons about aboriginal issues" and importance of "dialogue with indigenous" populations. He mentions the themes of forgiveness and perseverance in the face of tremendous loss. Could this be the book that inspires social change in Canada? There was much dialogue about the violence in the book but it is a time of war. Yes, it is graphic but it helps us to understand our history. Joseph Boyden reminds us "we need to know where we came from in order to know where we are going."
If Canada is on the verge of change The Orenda could certainly be a catalyst. Apparently many others agree as it has been chosen as the People's Choice as well!

Uplifted by YouTube
NB23 Things is featuring videos in week 7. I have watched some clips on YouTube but this will be my first attempt to post something from YouTube.
This video contains some of my favorite gospel songs. This video is so uplifting! I hope others will enjoy it too!

Pinterest Interest
I completed Things 13 though 15 last week but forgot to blog. I have used Pinterest as a resource for craft ideas but had never registered before so that was good. I created a few Pinterest boards which will be helpful for story time programming and I am following a few people who seem to have interesting ideas.
We have a few ideas of our own as you can see from this colorful guy.

Hurdle the Wordle
Thing 12 is creating a word cloud. Hear the thunderous applause as with lightning speed, I hurdle the Wordle!
This should not have been so difficult. Making the word cloud was simple but actually getting it in my blog was extremely frustrating! Just saying-I doubt I could ever do it the same way again. Thanks Kate.
